![]() Some things not carried over are the new skills in each character's skill tree (Faster Get-Up, Sprinting Attack, etc.). John, the new Riptide character, naturally cannot be imported from the first game, nor can the character of Ryder White be used. Remember that Riptide (launch version 1.3.0) takes many of the changes from Dead Island's last patch (scaling XP and money earned from quests and monster drops, scaling weapons and rewards, etc.) so importing a high level character into Riptide will put you against high level zombies. ![]() but without your high-level equipment (Zed's Katana, etc.). Luckily the level cap is past 60 (probably 70), so you will have some measure of play if you imported a high level character. Use that chance to buy up any remaining skills you believe are helpful. Note that the new Weapon category related skills (which require "mastery" through usage) start at Level 0 regardless if you import a character or not, since they are new to Riptide. If you're playing the first Dead Island to boost your character for Riptide, there're a few tricks to help you fast-level. (A) - There is a way to duplicate any stackable item in Dead Island, provided you have your other slots occupied by non-stackable items, and have the blueprints to create the stackable item you want to dupe, and a blueprint to create another stackable item.īasically, have the stackable item you want to duplicate equipped (in your hand) and occupy the other weapon wheel slots with non-stackable items. Go to a workbench and create a stackable item that's different from the one you are duplicating, and you will have a new stack of items (minus one in the stack) in your inventory. This method is how a Bomber Build is so handy in the first Dead Island game. (B) - With the ability to create stackable items (which you can sell), you can create a steady source of cash (as long as your Modification Components are available). In the City of Moresby (Act 2), there's a series of sidequests that ends with Fortress of God.
